Time flies by doesn't it?
I haven't written a blog in a while due to my busy schedule at college and other nonsense I'm sure. Today I want to write about something short and sweet. Going into college, I remember many peers saying that it will be the best four years of my life, and that it will fly by!...Lets just say they were completely right.
I remember as a kid for family gatherings I used to get annoyed when my grandmothers would pinch my cheek, or how they were always SO HAPPY to meet up.
I honestly think it is starting to all click to me. I am currently 22 years old and as corny as this may sound to some I am truly beginning to understand the meaning of Christmas. It is not about receiving gifts, and not even giving gifts. In my OPINION it is about spending time with FAMILY.
To some people that may sound real BROAD, but Christmas and other special holidays are about spending time with the PEOPLE that mean the most to you in your life.
Thanksgiving
New Yrs
Xmas
Easter
Birthdays
Etc..
Why do we celebrate all of these holidays and more? Because of the special people in our lives that we look forward to. Many many many years from now were going to be the ones making dinner for everyone and be the ones preparing everything. The fact of the matter is that these holidays are meant to bring EVERYONE TOGETHER.
So the next few days when your with your parents, grandmothers, grandfathers, brother, sister, girlfriend, boyfriends, and other important people in your life just remember they are such a huge part of your life.
So many people over the holidays will be thinking of the family and friends they have lost recently or over the years and how they wish they could spend Christmas one more time with them.
CHERISH your time with the ones who are here, and want to be a part of your life.
I feel like as we get older we learn to appreciate people more in our lives that have always been there.
Nothing in life is simple, but one thing that is constant for the most part is FAMILY.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy the holidays!
