1.) What are your plans after graduate school?
2.) Why are you single?
In March when I spent time in the Navajo Nation, I realized I am 100% okay with being "LOST".
If I asked you to name EVERYTHING and EVERYONE that you love in your life...
How long would it take you to say that you love yourself?????????
Being LOST doesn't mean that I'm sad, confused, or look down upon my life.
It means that I have accepted who I am, and where I am going (in which I have no clue).
I love when the sun sets because of its beauty, and because it means the day is just about over...BUT
Tomorrow is a new day :).
If you're reading this tonight I hope you can understand that it's okay to fear the unknown. Just be yourself, love yourself, and let go of expectations that are out of your control.
The rest will take care of itself.

I've been struggling with feel lost and out of place for several years, even partially while in college. Recently, it's been a lot worse, so my dad mailed me a letter his mother sent to him when he was a new dad (thanks to me). Here's the relevant excerpt:
ReplyDelete"You said you didn't know where you belonged - in so many words. You should have learned by now you belong right where you are at the moment. You have a job to do - a family to care for and a future to prepare for. There is no perfect place and you'd better look for the good. The positive here and now or you'll spend your entire life looking for 'your place.'"
Although neither of us have a family to care for (yet), we have our own job and our own bodies of which to take care. During this time, I am taking it upon myself to exercise more, eat healthier, make new friends and network, and to dive into the wonderful world of barbershop music (it's more like a cult). Anyways, I still feel lost, but trying to keep myself healthy and busy is a positive way to distract my inner thoughts.
